Battle of the Books is a district wide academic based competition created to embrace a love of reading and promote comaraderie among middle school students in particpatory discussion. The selected book titles incorporate a variety of literary styles and reading levels. 

Top teams from each middle school will face off in a head-to-head battle capturing the title of  "Champion Readers"

General Rules

  1. Students will form teams of 3-4 members.
  2. Each team will select a name (ie: Book Crushers, Lit Wits etc.)
  3. The team will be responsible for reading all of the selected 12 book titles (* However, the teams may choose to have each member read 3 or 4 books, or they can choose to have each member read all 12 books.)
  4. Teams will prepare to answer trivia based questions about each book.
  5. Teams will face off in a school competition.
  6. Winning teams from each school will compete against the remaining two middle schools.


* a permission slip must be signed by your parent or guardian and returned to your school's Library Media Specialist
